Shaded band is the middle half of live Buy It Now asking prices, 6-hour intervals; the line is the median. Auctions are excluded - a climbing bid is not an asking price. The scale follows the asking prices, so a sale well outside them is pinned to the edge rather than flattening the band.middle halfconfirmed salebest offer, at its cap

Superman Gum 1940 #17 Death on the Speedway Non-Sport Tradin
Estimated grade: 3 (2–4) · MEDIUM confidence · asking $120.00

Centering estimate: left border appears narrower than right (roughly 70/30 L/R), top border slightly wider than bottom (roughly 60/40 T/B) — moderate off-center but not severely miscut. All four corners show visible rounding, consistent with VG-range wear; no corners appear sharp. Surface shows significant toning/aging across the entire card face, which is typical for this 1940 set but still grades down; gloss appears largely absent. No obvious heavy creases are visible from this photo, but the overall surface texture and toning suggest VG (3) is most likely, with VG-EX (4) possible if the back is clean and no hidden creases exist, and GOOD (2) possible if back damage or a crease is concealed. The card's aged appearance is consistent with surviving 80+ year-old specimens of this scarce set.

Original 1940 Gum INC Superman Death On Speedway Card #17
Estimated grade: 3 (2–4) · MEDIUM confidence · asking $175.00

Centering estimate: left border appears narrower than right (~60% weight right), top border slightly wider than bottom — roughly 65/35 L-R and 60/40 T-B, so centering is passable but not tight. More critically, all four corners show visible rounding consistent with a VG-range card; the lower-left corner appears the most worn. Surface shows significant soiling/toning across the image area with what appears to be a horizontal crease or fold stress line running through the mid-section of the card (visible as a subtle line across Superman's torso area), consistent with the seller's implied handling wear. Gloss appears largely gone. The card is an early 1940 gum card so some print texture and color bleed is expected for the era, but the combination of rounded corners, apparent crease, and surface soiling points firmly to PSA 3 VG as the most likely outcome, with a small chance of 4 VG-EX if the crease is shallower than it appears, or sliding to 2 GOOD if the crease is more pronounced on back.
