Fifty-five cards telling the story of a Martian invasion, painted by Norm Saunders and issued under the Bubbles Inc. name because Topps knew what was coming. Parents complained, production stopped, and the set became one of the most collected in the hobby.

The Same Batman Card Exists in Four Countries and Only the Back Tells You Which
Topps in America, O-Pee-Chee in Canada, A&BC in England and Scanlens in Australia printed the same Norman Saunders paintings. The fronts are near enough identical. The copyright line on the reverse is the whole identification method.
The Album Told Children Exactly Where to Apply the Glue
Several issues this index tracks were sold with an album to stick them into. A card used as its maker intended tops out around a 2, and for some issues that is what every surviving copy looks like.
Cigarette Cards Were Packaging Before They Were Collectibles. Probably Not These Ones.
The standard story is that blank cards went into flimsy paper packs to stop the cigarettes being crushed. It is well attested and it does not obviously apply to the Allen and Ginter sets this index tracks, because Ginter had already fixed the packaging two years earlier.
