However, the most critical issue is a highly visible horizontal crease running across the mid-section of the card, clearly evident in the photo where the two halves are visibly misaligned/offset - this alone caps the grade at VG (3) or lower. Corners show rounding consistent with heavy handling, with the lower-left corner appearing particularly soft. Surface displays significant toning and paper aging typical of this 1940 gum card stock, with color oxidation throughout. The crease is the dominant defect here; without corner closeups the range is widened, but the crease and corner wear strongly suggest a PSA 2-3 range.
