Index grading notes

Centering estimate: left border appears slightly wider than right (~55/45 L/R), top and bottom borders appear roughly equal (~50/50 T/B) — centering is not the primary concern here. All four corners show significant rounding and wear, consistent with heavy handling over 80+ years. The upper-left corner shows paper loss or severe fraying, and the lower-left corner appears torn or chipped — this alone is grade-capping damage approaching PR-FR territory. Surface shows heavy toning, soiling, and loss of gloss across the entire card face; there is visible cracking or creasing in the lower-left quadrant. The seller's own description of 'Rough' is well-supported by the photo. At best this card grades GOOD (2) if the back is clean and no writing is present; the front damage — particularly the corner paper loss — pushes the estimate toward PR (1).

The note 'evidence of trimming' is the dominant grading concern here — PSA assigns a grade of 1 (Poor/Fair) or an 'A' qualifier to trimmed cards, and visible trimming is confirmed by the seller disclosure and the card's unnaturally clean, straight edges relative to its age and origin. Centering appears roughly left-heavy (estimated ~60L/40R) and top-light (~55T/45B), but centering is moot if trimming is confirmed. Surface shows moderate toning and wear consistent with an 80-year-old card; the watermark obscures fine surface detail but corners appear lightly to moderately worn. If trimming is confirmed by PSA, the card would receive a grade of 1 with an 'MK' or altered qualifier; if trimming is somehow ruled out, the wear and toning might support a VG (3) range — but trimming must be treated as likely given the seller disclosure and the note on the listing.
