1977 Topps Star Wars #58 Harrison Ford as Han Solo — Raw

Harrison Ford is one of the most beloved members of the Star Wars franchise, and his cards have been steadily ticking up in value over the past couple of years. His autographed cards are especially valuable - while Mark Hamill frequently signs cards, Ford has been much more selective about what he signs, and this has created a premium for these autographed slabs. There are currently 14 PSA 10 (Topps) #58 Harrison Ford as Han Solo cards in existence.

Index grading notes

Centering estimate: left border appears approximately 15-18% wider than right border, suggesting roughly 57/43 L/R; top border appears noticeably wider than bottom, approximately 65/35 T/B — centering is off but not catastrophically so. The blue borders show visible chipping/wear on at least two corners (lower-left and lower-right show rounding and border wear consistent with EX condition), and the upper corners appear slightly better but not sharp. Surface gloss appears moderate with some light loss visible; no creases are apparent in this scan, consistent with the seller's EX claim rather than a lower grade. The card back is not visible, and corner closeups are not available, so the range is widened accordingly — a clean back and better-than-apparent corners could push toward 6, while hidden surface wear or a crease could drop this to 4.

Centering estimate: left/right borders appear approximately 55/45 (slightly left-heavy), top/bottom approximately 60/40 (slightly top-heavy) — within NM-MT range on both axes. Corners appear reasonably sharp with no obvious rounding visible at this resolution, though the lower-left corner looks very slightly soft. The blue border shows no obvious chipping or major wear, which is a positive sign for this set. Surface appears to retain good gloss with no visible creases or staining; the image is clean and well-focused. Without a back scan or macro corner shots, pinning down 7 vs. 8 is difficult — the slight softness on one corner and the inability to fully assess edge wear from this single photo keeps the range wide; seller's NR-MINT claim is plausible but optimistic.

Centering estimate: Left border appears noticeably narrower than right (~60-65% right-heavy), top border slightly wider than bottom, roughly 55/45 top-to-bottom — centering is off but not catastrophically so, likely in the 70/30 to 75/25 L/R range which would cap at NM or below. Corners cannot be cleanly assessed due to sleeve glare and angle, but the lower-left and lower-right corners visible through the sleeve appear to show some rounding consistent with light to moderate wear, suggesting EX to EX-MT range. Blue borders on this series are notorious for chipping and edge wear; edge condition is largely obscured by the sleeve. Surface gloss appears moderate with the glare preventing a clean read — no obvious creases are visible but the sleeve makes crease detection unreliable. Range widened substantially due to sleeve obstruction, angle, and inability to examine corners or back.

Centering estimate: left border appears noticeably wider than right (~65-70% left / 30-35% right), and top border appears slightly wider than bottom (~55/45 top/bottom) — centering is off but not catastrophically so, likely in the 70/30 to 75/25 L/R range which would cap around PSA 6-7 on centering alone. Surface wear is the bigger concern: there is visible print snow/chipping on the blue border (typical for this set) and what appears to be moderate surface wear or possible light creasing in the image area, particularly across the upper chest/face region — this could be print texture or actual surface damage, impossible to confirm through the sleeve. Corners are not clearly visible due to the sleeve and finger placement, but the card appears to show at least light-to-moderate rounding at the visible corners, suggesting VG-EX to EX territory. The sleeve glare and single-angle photo prevent confident assessment of the back, true corner sharpness, and whether the surface wear is a crease or print artifact — range is widened accordingly.

Centering estimate: left border appears narrower than right (roughly 60/40 L-R favoring right), top border appears moderate but bottom is cropped out of frame preventing full top/bottom ratio assessment — call it approximately 65/35 L-R and top/bottom indeterminate. The blue border on the right edge shows some visible chipping/wear consistent with typical 1977 Topps Star Wars blue-border fragility. Corners visible on upper-left and upper-right appear to have minor rounding but no severe blunting, consistent with EX to EX-MT range. Surface gloss appears moderate with some loss, no obvious creases visible in the image though the photo angle and lighting are not ideal for detecting surface creases. The bottom portion of the card is obscured, preventing assessment of lower corners and lower border centering, which widens the uncertainty range significantly.

Centering estimate: left border appears narrower than right (approximately 70/30 L/R), top and bottom borders look closer to 55/45 T/B — centering is noticeably off horizontally. The blue borders show visible chipping and wear along all four edges, which is characteristic of this set but here appears more pronounced than minor. Corners show rounding on at least two corners (lower-left and upper-right most visible), consistent with a VG-EX to EX range. Surface gloss appears partially intact with some dulling, and there is a subtle suggestion of light handling wear on the photo area though no obvious creases are detectable from this angle; back is not visible so a hidden crease cannot be ruled out. The blue border chipping and corner rounding push this into the 4 VG-EX range as the most likely grade, with the range widened to account for possible back-side issues.

Centering estimate: left border appears slightly wider than right (~55/45 L/R), top border noticeably wider than bottom (~60/40 T/B) — acceptable for vintage but not tight enough for grades above 7. The blue border shows no obvious heavy chipping visible at this resolution, though the sleeve glare obscures fine edge detail. Corners appear to have light-to-moderate wear — they do not look razor sharp but show no obvious rounding or creasing visible from this angle; consistent with EX-MT to NM range. Surface gloss appears reasonable with no visible creases, staining, or print defects, but the sleeve diffuses detail and prevents confident corner and edge assessment. Grade estimate of 6 (EX-MT) reflects the slightly off centering, apparent light corner wear, and the real uncertainty introduced by the sleeve.

Centering estimate: left border appears slightly wider than right (~55/45 L/R), top border slightly wider than bottom (~55/45 T/B) — centering is acceptable but not tight. The blue border shows visible chipping/wear along all four edges, most notably on the left and bottom edges where the blue ink is clearly worn and light; this is the signature vulnerability of this set. All four corners show moderate rounding — not sharp, not fully blunted — consistent with an EX to EX-MT range. Surface appears reasonably clean with no visible creases, and the photo image retains adequate gloss. The combination of blue border chipping and corner rounding pushes this below NM-MT territory; no crease is visible which keeps it out of VG-EX or below, landing most likely at EX (PSA 5) with a reasonable chance of EX-MT (PSA 6) if corners are crisper than they appear.
