1977 Topps Star Wars #51 See-Threepio and Princess Leia — Raw

Centering (L/R): blue border appears roughly 60% left / 40% right — slightly left-heavy but within tolerable range; top/bottom appears approximately 55/45, acceptable. The blue borders show visible chipping and wear along all four edges, most notably at the top-left and bottom-left corners which show rounding and paint/ink loss consistent with a VG-EX range. Surface gloss appears partially intact in the image center but dulled toward the edges with no obvious crease visible from this photo. Corner sharpness is compromised on at least two corners (top-left, bottom-left), which are the most visible; right-side corners look slightly better but still show rounding. No creases, staining, or writing observed, but blue-border chipping is the dominant defect on this card type and pushes the grade toward the 4 range.

Centering: left blue border appears roughly 10–12% wider than right, top border slightly thicker than bottom — estimating approximately 55/45 L/R and 58/42 T/B, within NM-MT tolerance but not tight. Corners: all four appear intact with minimal wear; no obvious rounding visible at this resolution, though the bottom-left corner near the starburst shows slight softness that is hard to confirm definitively. Edges: blue borders show no dramatic chipping or nicks visible at this scale, which is a positive sign for this issue given how prone the blue stock is to edge wear. Surface: gloss appears intact with no visible creases, staining, or print defects, though subtle print snow common to this series may be present but cannot be ruled in or out at this scan resolution — back and corner macro shots would be needed to confirm a grade above 7.

Centering estimate: left border appears narrower than right (approximately 70/30 L/R), top border slightly wider than bottom (roughly 60/40 T/B) — centering is off but not severely miscut. The blue borders show visible chipping and wear particularly along the top and left edges, consistent with the known fragility of 1977 Topps Star Wars blue-border stock. Corners appear rounded at all four points with the most pronounced rounding visible at top-left and bottom-left; no sharp corners remain. Surface gloss appears partially intact with some dulling visible, and there is light surface wear but no obvious crease is confirmed from this angle — however the back is unseen and a hidden crease cannot be ruled out. Overall condition points to VG-EX (4) as the most likely grade, with EX (5) possible if corners are better than they photograph and VG (3) if the back reveals a crease or additional wear.
